What is Public Health?

The science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting human health through organized efforts and informed choices of society, organizations, public and private, communities and individuals.

The Community Health Centers has a strong Public Health link

The Community Health Center is directly linked with Benton County Health Department, the local public health authority for Benton County. 

The name Benton County Health Services is used to reflect the integration of our departments work.  We provide a full spectrum of services ranging from prevention of infectious illnesses as well as cancer, diabetes, obesity and other chronic diseases; environmental health services including food, water, septic and solid waste; to direct service delivery that includes primary care, mental health, oral health, and care coordination.
